Sparkle a little bit every day

The boring bit

I know, I know.... but please read it right down to the bottom, it contains important information you need to know.  Think how I feel, I had to spend hours working on this. At least you'll be done in five minutes.

Care of your jewellery

Many perfumes and skin products contain petroleum-based oils that can act as a solvent to certain types of bead finish. Care should be exercised when using such beads in contact with skin or clothing as the colour or finish of the beads may be affected. This particularly applies to metallized finishes or artificial pearls. Do not let your jewellery get wet, including handbag charms which may not like the rain.

Any plated items will eventually tarnish, sadly. The time taken depends on various factors including your own skin chemistry. You can extend the life of any piece, including inexpensive supermarket jewellery, by keeping it in a plastic ziplock bag when you're not wearing it, to protect it from air and moisture. Yes, those cheap freezer bags or butty bags you can get from pound shops. This will also stop them getting tangled up in a drawer.

Some semi-precious stones have been dyed and there may be some colour transfer to your skin the first few times you wear them. This is generally harmless and can be removed with soap and water.

The photo you see on screen is of the actual product you will buy, but please be aware that your monitor settings may affect the precise colour you see on screen.

Allergies

Unless explicitly stated, all metals used are silver-plated or gold-plated base metals or tibetan silver which is an alloy of unnamed metals and does not contain actual silver. Some people are sensitive to these base metals, particularly to nickel and lead, and if you have any concerns then you should not purchase them. Some items may be fitted with a glass or acrylic clasp upon request and at additional cost. I don't tend to stock silver clasps as they are rather expensive but I can get hold of them if you would like me to. You should also be aware that some crystals can contain lead so may also trigger a reaction in some people. Including me. All earrings can be fitted with sterling silver earwires at an additional cost (probably £3, but please check with me since the price of silver varies so much) and I usually have those in stock so can fit them immediately. Pendant chains can be exchanged for cord or leather. Please contact me if you have any queries.

Food-style beads safety

Some items may resemble miniature versions of food, drink and sweets. They are made from non-toxic polymer clay but they are not edible, and they are not suitable for children under 14 or vulnerable adults due to the risk of choking.

Custom orders

I am happy to discuss custom orders if you have something particular in mind. Please note that I do not copy other designers' work unless they have given permission, and I reserve the right to decline any custom order without giving a reason.

In general I like to create completely unique items so you will often find you are unable to purchase more than one of many of the items on my website. However, if you want more than one, perhaps for bridesmaids or party favours, please do contact me and I may be able to make more, or something very similar.

Wherever possible I will start making your jewellery the same day you have paid, or the next working day, unless of course I need to order in any supplies for it. Usually it can be completed within a day or two but some items may take longer. All items are handmade by me and some take considerable time. Please be aware that occasionally I may not be able to make your item immediately if i have a lot of orders, in which case you will not be required to make payment until I am ready to start your order and you may cancel the order within this time. However please be aware that your order slot (the space in my diary for when I can make it) is not confirmed until full payment has been received and I may need to use it for another customer if they have paid before you do. I'm sure that you'll understand that I cannot order any supplies until you have paid and it is not intended to imply lack of trust. I may occasionally begin an order before I have received payment for it but if I then get paid for any different orders then those must take priority over any unpaid orders. At peak times such as Christmas you may regrettably lose an order slot completely if you delay paying for too long as this is the only way to be fair to other customers.

Custom orders are not refundable but if you are unhappy with your jewellery I will remake it until you are happy.

On very rare occasions I may not be able to make an order for the agreed price, for example if there has been a significant increase in the cost of the materials or if a particular component is unavailable and a suitable replacement would be much more. (Or if I have a broken arm!) If this has happened I will contact you to discuss other options and give you the chance to withdraw from the contract and will refund any money you have paid.

Postage

I charge a flat rate £2 for postage. If it costs more than that, it's my problem, not yours. I send all items First Class, because who wants to wait ages to get their stuff? Not me, and I'm sure not you either. I may use Recorded or Special Delivery services as appropriate, or a courier service or hand delivery. I currently do not post orders outside the UK. You may request Special Delivery at an additional cost. You may  arrange to pick up your order from my stall and pay cash. I do not offer pick up from my home address.  I will post your order as soon as I can after payment is received, usually the next working day or even the same day if possible, except for custom orders which obviously will take time to make. In both cases it will depends how many other orders I have received but I will always dispatch as soon as I possible can.

You may notice some orders arrive with just a large letter stamp on. So why were you charged £2? This is not a sneaky way of charging extra - the additional money is to cover the packaging, labels and paypal fees, and I usually find that £2 isn't enough. But as I said earlier, that's my problem, not yours.

Payment

I ac
cept payment by PayPal. You do not need a PayPal account to use this, you can pay by credit or debit card and I will never see your details.

Returns

I hope you are happy with your purchase. If for any reason you are not, please contact me within 14 days and return it to me within 14 days from contacting me for a refund. If it is my fault then I will refund your postage fees. Items should not be worn but you are permitted to try them on. Under the UK's Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 you have the right to cancel an order within 14 days of the day after you receive it. If you wish to cancel an order before it has been dispatched then please contact me. Custom orders are not refundable once any work has begun or any supplies have been ordered. You must return any unwanted items to get a refund and you are responsible for the cost of returning them.  If you return any part of an order you must also return the free gift that came with it and the gift box or pouch each item was supplied in. Earrings are non-refundable for hygiene reasons. For necklaces that come with earrings, you must also return the earrings even though they cannot be resold. If you would like to keep them and return just the necklace, their individual sale cost can be deducted from your refund. You are responsible for the items until they reach me so I recommend that you use a delivery service which will cover you for the value of the items. Please be aware that they may take up to seven days to reach me unless you use Special Delivery.

Privacy

All your details will remain private. I do not store any of your information except as it pertains to processing your order, and I will never pass any details on to any third party except where ordered to by law (highly unlikely!). I don't send out marketing emails or letters and noone else will do this on my behalf. Any contact you get from me will be solely in response to a query or order from you. I do not use cookies or store any traffic or location data. (I wouldn't even know how!)  As with all internet use, data can occasionally be intercepted en route and I cannot guarantee security of electronic data in this case. Any information you send over the internet or email is at your own risk. Under the Data Protection Act you have the right to access any information that I hold about you and I will charge £10 to cover costs incurred in providing this information to you.

Pricing

I make every effort to ensure that prices are correct. In the event that a price is incorrect I will  inform you of the correct amount and ask if you wish to continue your order at the correct price or cancel. I'm not at all unreasonable: if I've written £8 when it should have been £10, say, then you can of course have it for £8, and I will only decline an order if the correct price is substantially different.

Your order

The display of items for sale on this website is an invitation to treat. When placing an order you are making an offer to purchase those items which I may either accept or decline. Receipt of payment does not mean that I have accepted an order and I reserve the right to return the payment to you. No contract will exist between us until such time as I have confirmed dispatch of the items. The contract will be made under English law and subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
